We engage in research across a wide range of areas that reflect our commitment to human-centred design, sustainable futures and interdisciplinary collaboration. Our research areas include design research pedagogy and methods, sustainable urban and regional development, culture, heritage and conservation, housing, and architectural history.

Architecture Museum

Our nationally unique Architecture Museum houses over 400,000 items, including drawings, photographs, personal papers, and literature, documenting Australia’s rich architectural history.

The Waite Arboretum

The Waite Arboretum spans 27 hectares, providing a living laboratory for students and researchers. The space is a place for research, education, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement.

Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments

The Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments leads augmented and virtual reality research, combining computer science, engineering, neuroscience, art, architecture, and design.
