Our study areas

A unique environment for research, teaching and industry collaboration

The Food Innovation Laboratory houses a teaching kitchen, sensory booths, tutorial and discussion spaces to support food science and sensory research. The Hickinbotham Roseworthy Wine Science Laboratory, built to commercial winery scale, processes up to 120 tonnes of fruit annually and supports 70% of Australia’s wine research. Other key facilities include the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility, the Microbrewery for barley, malting and fermentation studies, and Adelaide Analytical for advanced food and beverage analysis.

Specialist resources such as Adelaide Microscopy, the Membrane Transporter Expression Facility, the Biotechnology and Fermentation Facility, and the Food and Beverage Laboratory (FABLAB) provide cutting-edge tools and expertise, ensuring students and partners work in an environment at the forefront of agricultural, food and wine innovation.
