2.1 Inclusions
This policy applies to the Adelaide University community and to external parties who use or seek to use facilities owned, managed, leased or controlled by Adelaide University.
2.2 Exclusions
This policy does not apply to Adelaide University community members who seek to hire non-university-owned facilities.
3. Our estates and facilities management principles
Adelaide University owns and leases multiple campuses, buildings and facilities for teaching and research purposes and to support student activities.

3.1 We are committed to strategic acquisition, maintenance and divestment of facilities
The Estates and Facilities team manages the acquisition, development, maintenance and divestment of Adelaide University spaces and buildings to meet financial and business needs.
3.2 We prioritise facilities use for business needs and strategic goals
The Chief Property Officer is responsible for prioritising use in line with our strategic goals.
3.3 We ensure our facilities are safe and fit-for-purpose
We ensure our estates and facilities are safe, secure, accessible, and well maintained to support learning, research, and community life. Facilities may also be available for external hire to support community engagement.
3.4 We aim to maximise appropriate use of our facilities
Our estates and facilities are developed, planned and managed to maximise efficient, effective and appropriate use according to their designated functions. Users must use these spaces responsibly and respectfully.
3.5 We are committed to sustainability and ongoing improvement of our facilities
The Estates and Facilities team are responsible for continually improving and optimising the viability and sustainability of our facilities and services to benefit society and the environment.

Adelaide University community refers to a broad range of stakeholders who engage with Adelaide University and includes (but is not limited to) all students, staff, and nonstaff members of Adelaide University including alumni, honorary title holders, adjuncts, visiting academics, guest lecturers, volunteers, suppliers and partners who are engaging with and contributing to the work of Adelaide University.
