Rising to the challenge is the Office of the Vice Chancellor, responsible for designing and delivering initiatives that support the University’s strategic vision and goals.

Led by Vice Chancellor Professor Nicola Phillips, the portfolio brings several key functions together to enable cohesive strategy, strong governance and purposeful transformation. It plays a vital role in shaping Adelaide University’s future – supporting informed leadership, institutional excellence and unified strategic delivery.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor is divided into three functions:

Office of the Vice Chancellor

Providing strategic advice, specialist expertise, and operational support to Adelaide University’s Vice Chancellor and executive leadership team, this function ensures coordinated decision-making, offers policy insight, manages key committees and briefings, and leads communications that amplify the University’s purpose and priorities.

Transformation Management Office

The Transformation Management Office is responsible for driving change initiatives that support Adelaide University’s vision and long-term goals. This function plays a central role in planning, coordinating and overseeing transformation initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, academic excellence and stakeholder experience.

Governance Services

Governance Services is a critical function that upholds the University’s governance framework while meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. This function provides strategic and operational support to the University Council and its committees; ensuring strong, transparent and compliant governance processes.

Vice Chancellor and President: Professor Nicola Phillips

Professor Nicola Phillips is Adelaide University’s new Vice Chancellor and President (Vice Chancellor) with effect from 12 January 2026.
