Welcome to the Academic portfolio

The Academic portfolio leads Adelaide University’s approach to learning and teaching, academic integrity, and equitable access to education. Through its integrated functions, it supports curriculum innovation, digital learning, quality assurance, and student success – ensuring a future-focused and inclusive academic experience across our range of education offerings.

Providing oversight of the Adelaide University curriculum, we are responsible for the development of policies and strategies, as well as curriculum management recommendations, regulatory obligations and academic policies.

Through collaboration and strategic alignment, this portfolio advances Adelaide University’s goal in ensuring a future-focused, student-centred approach to education.

The portfolio enables and supports research and student engagement through its library and information services, reinforcing the University’s strategic vision.

Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic

The Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic leads the delivery of Adelaide University’s Education strategy. It ensures academic governance, curriculum quality and inclusive access to education, while driving innovation and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

Partnering, Performance and Strategic Projects

The Partnering, Performance and Strategic Projects function enhances academic excellence and operational efficiency in partnership with Colleges and Schools. We support senior leaders in developing, enabling and overseeing the learning and teaching vision and strategy.

Learning and Teaching

Learning and Teaching leads Adelaide University’s approach to academic excellence by overseeing quality assurance, academic integrity, work-integrated learning, and innovative, digitally enabled curriculum design. The function partners with Schools, industry and the Library to deliver inclusive, engaging learning experiences, strengthen educational capability, and ensure students and staff have access to the resources, technologies and support needed to succeed.

Adelaide University Online and Learning Futures

Adelaide University Online and Learning Futures delivers accessible, high-quality online and in-person learning experiences that support lifelong learning. The function partners with industry and external providers to expand educational opportunities, ensuring programs and short courses remain current, relevant and responsive to the needs of learners.

Pathways and Participation

Pathways and Participation leads Adelaide University’s commitment to equity, access and inclusive excellence by delivering high-quality preparatory and enabling education for diverse learners. The function develops and delivers domestic and international pathway programs, and partners with communities and industry to address educational inequality and strengthen access to higher education. Additionally, it provides University partners with tailored training solutions for students and staff, enhancing capability and collaboration across the institution.
