Adelaide University's organisational structure is designed with our big ambitions in mind – to be a world leading, world referenced university.

Adelaide University’s portfolios are the professional units that make up our university. They enable us to plan and execute initiatives that align with our goals.

The University has eight portfolios including: People and Culture, Indigenous, Corporate, International and External Engagement, Academic, Research and Innovation, Student Experience and Success, Provost, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor.

Our portfolios


Leading Adelaide University’s recruitment, development and retention of top talent. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – People and Culture, People Services and Careers, People Advisory and Wellbeing, Organisational Capability, and Workforce Planning and Partnering. 

Delivering First Nations priorities, while driving inclusivity, equity and excellence. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Indigenous, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Innovation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Outreach and Engagement, and Aboriginal Strategy and Governance. 

Leading the University’s strategic and operational activity for long-term sustainability and growth. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Corporate, Finance, Performance Data and Insights, Estates and Facilities, Information Technology, Legal, Risk, and Integrity. 

Driving the University’s reputation, partnerships and relationships, student recruitment, and philanthropy efforts. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – International and External Engagement, Advancement, Global Partnerships, Industry and Government, Community and Regional Engagement, Marketing and Communications, and Future Students. 

Managing the delivery of our learning and teaching – ensuring academic integrity, innovation and accessibility. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic, Academic Quality and Integrity, Adelaide University Library, Adelaide University Online and Learning Futures, Partnering, Performance and Strategic Projects, Pathways and Participation, and Teaching and Learning Innovation. 

Leading the University’s research strategy, enabling large-scale and high-impact research. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Research and Innovation, Graduate Research Training, Research Services and Infrastructure, Research Translation, and Research Performance and Structures.

Ensuring connected and inclusive experiences for every student. Includes the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Student Experience and Success, Partnering and Strategic Projects, Student and Academic Services, Student Engagement, Student Ombud, and Student Success. 

Leading high-quality and transformative academic delivery across our Colleges and Schools. Includes the Office of the Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor; College of Business and Law; College of Creative Arts, Design and Humanities; College of Engineering and Information Technology; College of Health; College of Science; and the College of Education, Behavioural and Social Science. 

Guiding, designing and delivering key initiatives to support Adelaide University’s overall vision and goals. Includes the Office of the Vice Chancellor Portfolio and Administration, Governance Services and the Transformation Management Office.
