With the endorsement of Times Higher Education, Adelaide University is pleased to share its updated and confirmed position in the global top 150 in the 2026 THE World University Rankings at #133 worldwide.
This represents the true position of Adelaide University in its inaugural year. The previously released ranking contained a coding error, reflecting the challenges associated with the complexity and unprecedented nature of creating a new major university through the amalgamation of two world-leading institutions. We thank THE for identifying and correcting the anomaly.
Combined with our global top 100 status with the latest QS World University Rankings of #82 worldwide, these results speak to the undeniable potential of Australia’s newest comprehensive public university and the strong underlying performance, experience and achievements of our foundation universities. This outstanding debut underpins our confidence in further strengthening our global reputation throughout our formative years.
Adelaide University will bring together significant academic and research capability with increased capacity to achieve even greater positive impact for our students, partners and community – and despite an increasingly competitive global tertiary sector, the new institution remains well placed to be ranked in the top 1% worldwide on an ongoing basis.
