What is the difference between part-time and full-time study?
Last Modified: 13/Jul/2024
If you are studying full-time you can expect to spend around 30-40 hours a week on study related activities, which can include in person and online scheduled learning, self-directed study, research and/or placements.
Most degrees at Adelaide University can be studied part-time, and your program will simply take you longer to complete than if you were studying full-time. It is important to note that some courses (subjects) have prerequisites or corequisites which may impact your program plan if you are studying part-time.
Choosing to study part-time may also have financial impacts, for example, claiming Centrelink benefits or accessing tertiary student discounts. The university considers a study load of less than 75% to be part-time.
