Adelaide University invites you to Kaurna Day is a free community event - everyone is welcome!
Join us on Thursday, 5 March 2026, 7 am– 2:30 pm, for Kaurna Day 2026 - Tirkanthi - Ngutu - Taikurrinthi (Learning – Knowledge - Be united together), as we celebrate the connection between Adelaide University and the First Nations peoples on whose lands we live and learn – the Kaurna, Boandik, and Bangarla peoples – and recognise the rich diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures across Australia.
The day begins with a 7 AM Sunrise Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country, followed by a full program of music, dance, storytelling, workshops, and community activities across Adelaide City Campus East.
Explore and experience:
- Performances by First Nations artists from the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music (CASM)
- Community stalls featuring Indigenous artists and vendors
- Student and researcher showcases, highlighting First Nations-led research and learning
- Cultural activities, native animal displays, and interactive experiences on the Barr Smith Lawns
Come for an hour or stay for the day — Kaurna Day is a time to connect, learn, and celebrate together.
