Welcome to Adelaide University

In an era marked by increasing uncertainty and complexity the well-being and aspirations of young learners are arguably more important than ever. The role of education in support of a flourishing life is therefore equally urgent. Educators are charged with the responsibilities to navigate a globally interconnected world shaped by the vicissitudes of politics, diversity, mobilities, technology, social media, environmentalism, societal expectations, and seemingly so much more. At ISfTE 2026, we invite participants to explore how teaching and learning can respond to these dynamics through reimagining curricula and pedagogies that support flourishing lives and more just and equitable futures for all.

This year’s conference is hosted by the newly formed Adelaide University, launching in 2026 through the merger of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia. Known also by its Aboriginal name, Tirkangkaku - "Place of Learning' - this institution reflects a deep commitment to integrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Knowledges into its identity and practice. We welcome you to join us in this historic moment of educational renewal and shared inspiration.
