About me
Xing Ma has been involved in teaching and research in civil engineering for more than 20 years. Xing was a lecturer at Tongji University, China after he finished his PhD study at the same university in 2000 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2004. During the period at Tongji, his research activities were mainly focused on the nonlinear dynamic behaviour of tower structures and cable structures. From 2004 to 2010, Xing served as a research fellow in the University of Auckland and worked for the “Composite Structural Assembly” program for nearly 6 years. Research activities were focused on thin-skinned composite structures, in particular skin buckling theory, concrete-steel interface bonding-slip behaviour and practical design procedures for composite panels. Xing joined the University of South Australia in 2010. Research works were focused on steel structures, composite structures and structural applications of sustainable materials.
