About the School of Architecture and Built Environment

Our vision

To shape sustainable and inclusive spaces for better futures through design-led thinking, advanced technologies, and collaborative practice.

The School of Architecture and Built Environment at Adelaide University brings together design-led thinking, sustainability, and industry collaboration to address global challenges and create better spaces for living, working and recreation.

Students learn in studio environments that reflect professional practice and engage with industry professionals.

Our researchers lead in areas such as sustainable urban development, heritage, housing, and design pedagogy.

Unique resources like the Waite Arboretum—a living laboratory—and Australia’s only Architecture Museum enrich learning and research. Through strong partnerships with industry and community, we advance the future of built environments for the benefit of community, society and the planet.
